The initial target of Bolduans Bay Pty. Ltd. was to grow plate oysters ready for live sale, but the
development of the oyster industry in Tasmania and South Australia has seen the need for specialist
nursery growers emerge. With this opening available, Bolduans Bay Oysters Pty. Ltd. has now
developed a product range consisting of 48 different sizes and qualities of oysters. These are
available in sizes from 10mm "Juveniles" for ongrowing by other farmers, through to 110mm "Premium
Jumbos" for sale into the Melbourne and Sydney fish markets.
Export markets in South East Asia and Japan are also being developed through our marketing company
"Tasea Enterprises Ltd.". This company handles the sales of mature oysters and mussels for 16
Tasmanian farms. Approximately 2% of the total production goes to export at this time.
