Bolduans Bay Oysters Pty. Ltd. commenced operations in March 1979. The initial targets were to operate a partnership on a part time basis, producing 1 million or 80,000 dozen oysters per annum (80 tonnes live wieght)with a farm gate value of $64,000. By December 1980, 3 fulltime and 3 casual staff were employed.
  With continued expansion, the company sales had increased to $525,000 in 1990 and employment had risen to 9 fulltime employees. On the 30th of December 1998, Bolduans Bay Oysters Pty. Ltd. purchased the business of Duck Bay Shellfish from John and Sue Aalders. This has expanded the Bolduans Bay Oysters Pty. Ltd. operation to double it's previous level.


  The projected sales for the 1999 - 2000 year, total 20 million oysters or 1.83 million dozen oysters (1000 tonnes live weight) with a farm gate value of $2,400,000.
